A Day in Sienna

Today is our first full day in Sienna and we had the opportunity to enjoy pretty much a full day of free range upon the village.  Most folks took the opportunity to shop and to see the major sites – the Basilica of St. Catherine, Duomo, the  Piazza del Campo and others.  The most amazing thing to see of this city though is the view.  Being a hill-side village, the spectacular views of the country-side are absolutely stunning.

The whole day was capped off tonight as a few of us had the opportunity to take part in a casual conversation up on the roof-top of our hotel overlooking much of the beautiful Tuscan countryside.  It was a great day that turned into a beautiful night.

(Of course as soon as we get decent internet access, I will post a bit more about the village and what we all did via video and pictures.)
